"This Army List contains much more than contemporary army officers down to the rank of lieutenant with the dates of their promotions. The militia, the yeomanry cavalry, the Indian Civil Service, medical and veterinary officers and even retired officers on pay or pension are also listed. A section on the mobilisation of the army in the UK records where each corps was stationed is also included. This information would also be useful for those trying to locate an event, like a baptism or burial, in a non-commissioned officer's family. "
